About Robby

I’m Robby van Dijk, a trauma-informed practitioner and Havening Techniques® practitioner, supporting people to reconnect with calm, safety, and inner steadiness.

The name Candlelight Haven reflects a simple image that deeply informs my work: a small, steady light that offers guidance without glare. A candle doesn’t force the darkness away — it illuminates just enough, allowing what’s ready to be seen to emerge in its own time. For me, this image also echoes an ancient teaching about light being shared rather than hidden — not to impose, but to gently support others in finding their own way forward.

My work is grounded in compassion, neuroscience, and the deep learning that comes from witnessing healing unfold in others. I bring together professional training, lived clinical experience, and a gentle, human approach that honours each person’s pace, capacity, and uniqueness. I offer a space where healing can unfold naturally — without pressure, judgement, or overwhelm.

I am deeply passionate about Havening Techniques and the role they can play in fostering safety, resilience, and meaningful change. Through my training work, I support practitioners not only to understand the techniques, but to embody them — developing confidence, attunement, and trust in their own presence.

I have worked across addiction recovery, trauma support, and wellbeing settings, supporting individuals and groups to reconnect with their inner resources and sense of self. My approach is relational, respectful, and grounded in safety, allowing healing to emerge gently rather than being forced.

This work is offered with care, humility, and deep respect for each person’s unique journey.
